SENDA LOTO
Senda Loto is a temple of insight in Colombia’s Sierra Nevada — often referred to as “the Heart of the World.” Nestled among jungle, rivers, and mountains, we offer silent and semi-silent meditation and yoga retreats in a peaceful and comfortable sanctuary.
Our programs teach Shamatha (calm-abiding) and Vipassana (insight) meditation as taught in the Dudjom Tersar lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, supported by Hatha yoga and breathwork to open the body, liberate the mind, and reveal its natural clarity. Periods of noble silence alternate with optional moments of connection, creating a rhythm to turn inward, rest deeply and reconnect with yourself. Here, meditation and yoga are not only practiced — but lived.
“Don’t prolong the past! Don’t anticipate the future! Don’t alter the present! Leave mind just as is — aware, relaxed. Beyond this, there’s not a damn thing.” – Patrul Rinpoche

Pema brings over 15 years of dedicated study and practice to his teaching, deeply grounded in the Dzogchen tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. He has studied with renowned teachers including The Dalai Lama, Dzongsar Khyentse, and his guru, Loppon Jigme Rinpoche.
His path here was anything but conventional. Losing both parents in childhood, and later his inheritance, taught him early how fragile worldly security can be. Music became his refuge, and eventually his career — a successful one that took him around the world. But the deeper questions that had followed him since childhood never went away. Then came a crisis that brought everything into question. In the middle of it, something shifted: a direct recognition of how impermanent our thoughts, emotions, and experiences really are. That recognition changed the course of his life. He left his career and possessions behind and spent the next fifteen years in Tibetan temples, in retreat, study, and practice.
Pema founded Senda Loto and La Casa de Loto to share what he found — making the depth of traditional Buddhist retreat accessible to anyone drawn to genuine practice.
